I Swear I Loved

In my dreams of fear, And in days that near, Within my nights of solitude, Beyond the reaches of my fortitude, Shatters my heart.

And with every broken shard, I swear I loved

From memories of hands grasped, To the empty handed truth, Far away from my clutches of reality, I reminiscise with wistful brutality, Which cracks open my heart.

And with every broken shard, I swear I loved.

Between those who don’t do for me, And those who do “for me”, Away from the masks which say the truth, Near those faces which lie, Bursts my heart.

And with every broken shard, I swear I loved.

Yet with every rise of dawn, After every fall of dusk, Each piece throbs a little faster, Even though its been through disaster, Beats my heart.

And with every broken shard, I swear I loved.
